Pucked series books6/10/2023 ![]() Who knew I could love hockey so much? Not too long ago, after having read a few hockey romances, I watched a professional hockey game on TV and actually understood what was going on (the big surprise was that I wanted to watch hockey at all.) So not only are hockey romances sexy and entertaining, they’re also educational. Hockey romances are rollercoaster rides of emotion, angst, sex, and hockey. ![]() Their rock-hard abbed exteriors hide smushy, gushy hearts and an endless supply of emotional baggage, and all they need is a good woman or man to make them whole and wholly themselves. This is what I’ve learned from reading this particular romance sub-genre: all hockey players are hot and the action off the ice is even hotter. ![]() Until two months ago, I’d never even picked up a hockey romance, but here I am going down the hockey-romance rabbit hole and loving it! ![]() Just in time for the NCAA Frozen Four and Stanley Cup playoffs: hockey-themed romances! ![]()

The atlantis gene6/10/2023 ![]() ![]() There are times when the story falls back on over played tropes - Nazis are the root of all evil, after all - but the origin mystery is relatively unexplored territory, in my experience at least, and the various threads of the narrative combined in new and interesting ways. Preying on the insecurity modern, particularly western, society has about terrorism, the idea of a global terrorist organisation is a frightening one, and Riddle plays with the idea effectively - particularly in David's half of the narrative. ![]() Riddle's story is far reaching in scope, with plenty of twists and turns to keep the pages turning quickly. In the style of Dan Brown, AG Riddle takes a pinch of truth and adds a bucketload of elaboration and imagination to create a globe trotting thriller that, until it's final stretch, is almost plausible. The quest to solve it will challenge everything they think they understand about themselves, the people they know, and the origins of the human race. ![]() His only leads are a few cryptic messages from the 1940s and research scientist Dr Kate Warner, who has become intricately connected with the terrorists without knowing it.īoth have only some of the pieces of the whole puzzle. ![]() He's been after them since 9/11, but the huge scope of the organisation makes them difficult to pin down or predict. Clocktower agent David Vale is on the tail of a large terrorist organisation. ![]()

In Jesus and the Jewish Roots of Mary, I tried to bring both of these together and show that the key to understanding Catholic beliefs about Mary is to look at what the New Testament says in. ![]() In Jesus and the Jewish Roots of Mary, Dr. Brant Pitre begins with the problems people encounter with Mary and the level of veneration that Catholics give to. ![]() "Brant Pitre is one of the most compelling theological writers on the scene today." – Bishop Robert Barronīestselling author of Jesus and the Jewish Roots of the Eucharist casts new light on the Virgin Mary, illuminating her role in the Old and New Testaments.Īre Catholic teachings on Mary really biblical? Or are they the "traditions of men"? Should she be called the "Mother of God," or just the mother of Jesus? Did she actually remain a virgin her whole life or do the "brothers of Jesus" refer to her other children? By praying to Mary, are Catholics worshipping her?
